2017 Creative Expo Taiwan Joins Forces with Fringe Shops for Creative Month of April! Check-in at Fringe Shops to Collect Points for Gifts!

This year marks the seventh Creative Expo Taiwan, which will be held from April 19 to 23 at three major venues (Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Huashan 1914 Creative Park, Expo Dome) in Taipei. Also, starting on April 1, CET has specially planned a series of satellite activities in nearby areas around the venues to warm up for the official opening of CET 2017, demonstrating the spirit of “The City is the Exhibition Hall and the Exhibition Hall is Life.” This year, CET will collaborate with shops of four major types—“Food and Drink,” “Handicrafts,” “Lifestyle,” and “Exhibition Space,” which will complement CET’s three major themes of “Crafts,” “Design,” and “Licensing.”

According to the Ministry of Culture, a total of 379 fringe shops around Taiwan will be mobilized in April, igniting Taiwan’s cultural and creative energy. This year, in addition to involving 229 fringe shops in Taipei, including Folio Daan Taipei, Qing Tian 76, and CereiZ, to launch a series of activities, the scope has also been expanded to all corners of the island to also include municipal governments of Keelung, New Taipei City, Yilan, Taoyuan, Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, Yunlin, Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Taitung, recommending cultural and creative shops such as Yingge Spot Aesthetics Hall, “Lukang Lion,” and Tienchung Kiln. The Ministry of Culture and municipal governments jointly promote the development of Taiwan’s cultural and creative industries, which will facilitate local cultural tourism and consumption, and provide citizens more diverse and local cultural and creative experiences and perceptive pleasures.

For citizens to search and visit fringe shops quickly, CET has specially launched an exclusive App. In addition to introducing exhibition venues and series of activities, the App also has positioning function, allowing citizens to search for nearby fringe shops and participate in the check-in for gifts activity; the more shops you visit, the more points you collect, and the more likely you will win  over 100 gifts worth over 1,000 NTD, including coupons for cultural and creative hotel and cultural and creative classes, ceramic home decors, and kitchenware! Furthermore, citizens can partake in the Good Shop 100 campaign, which includes ticket discount at Spot Huashan, Anadou Creative Exhibition at Fine Wood Working Platform, discount at Ivan Leathercraft, exclusive membership reward at Treerful, and trial class at Matt Studio.

The Ministry of Culture also points out that, in order for citizens to experience local culture, it has also launched 9 exclusive walking routes in Taipei, New Taipei City, Yilan, and Taichung. Some of the routes will be led by professional tour guides, guiding citizens to further explore local culture, and discover exciting stories behind the development of the neighborhoods. Citizens can register for all aforementioned activities by visiting CET page on ACCUPASS.
