The Cultural Curation of the 2026 Creative Expo Taiwan will run from August 1 to 31 at the Heritage Building of the Kong Zong Cultural Base. The Ministry of Culture stated that as human civilization is rapidly being absorbed into digital currents, this year’s cultural curation theme, “Bit Zero,” addresses humanity’s rethinking of the essence of creativity under the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI). The exhibition layout is designed around six core concepts—“Time, Land, Action, Shift, Body, and Healing”—spanning five major exhibition areas.

Agi Chen serves as the Creative Director for this curation, collaborating with cross-disciplinary planning teams including Ellen Yalun Peng Culture and Artist Atelier, Midroom, S.Select Lab, Concentric Production, and AABT. Together, they weave Taiwanese cultural IPs—born from the very first "thoughts" flashing through creators' cerebral cortexes—into five interconnected exhibition areas, forming a cultural and creative ecosystem that ultimately grows into a cultural force that impacts the world.

The entrance installation on the ground of the Political Warfare Square, titled "No Rush. You're Doing Really Well," corresponds to the concept of "Land". Through landscape art, it transforms the land from a mere background into a speaking subject, translating historical marks via "tile aesthetics" and "botanical symbols" to turn Taiwanese cultural IPs into an approachable, sensory map of culture.

on the first floor of the Heritage Building, the "IN TRANSIT" exhibition area aligns with the concept of "Action". Using coastal travel as a clue, it kicks off an imaginative journey across time. Visitors will become travelers here, stepping into the future arrivals check-in counter. Through the Sea Condition Tuning Cabin, The Blue Passage, and Sea-Flavour Transfer Station set up within the zone, they will experience a journey rich in visuals and sounds.

Ascending to the second floor of the Heritage Building, visitors are first welcomed by "The Orange Story in the Blue World" area, which corresponds to the concept of "Shift". Amidst this digital tide pursuing ultimate rationality, this area seeks to reclaim the human values that have been destabilized by excessive convenience, launching a collective action that shifts from rational data back to sentimental existence.

Following closely is the "Wake Up! Awaken Your Senses" exhibition area, corresponding to the concept of "Body". Through the specially designed "Reboot" and the "Exploring Within," it invites visitors to re-examine historical landscapes and natural details often overlooked by technology. In this cross-sensory association experiment, visitors use themselves as a starting point to feel their surroundings with their hearts, summoning back their perceptive organs.

After exploring the second floor, visitors follow the designated route back down to the first floor to find the “Tomorrow Shop” exhibition area, a therapeutic space corresponding to the concept of "Healing". This area constructs a "cultural airport" leading inward. By gathering island customs and the textures of mountains and seas from a journey across 22 counties and cities, it creates stylish curated selections that enrich both mind and body. These Taiwanese cultural IPs, transformed into lifestyle replenishments, continue to warm every independent and free soul with each selection and purchase.

Beyond their individual concepts, the five exhibition areas collectively echo "Bit Zero" through the lens of "Time". They feature carefully selected creative IPs that withstand the test of time and embody the Taiwanese spirit. These include Megaport Festival, which has for years interwoven music memories among harbors, ship silhouettes, and crowds; “I Dream of the Ocean” and “Seven Ages of a Man,” proving that the weight of life comes from personal participation; “Hero! Hito!,” creating the power of miracles out of rational persistence; the joys and sorrows in “Three Tears in Borneo” and “A Foggy Tale,” resonating with viewers across time; and “Father and Mother” and “Jinsei Daigaku - A Solo of Mama Sakurako,” exploring self-identity through intimate relationships. By utilizing various genres of work to explore migration, emotion, and sensory experience, the exhibition reminds audiences that cultural creation is a precious crystallization that AI can never replace.
